Connect Slack

Post your workspace's batch, quality check, comment and review events into a Slack channel.

transglot posts workspace events into one Slack channel through a Slack incoming webhook: translation batches finishing or failing, quality checks, comments and review activity. Your team sees them where it already talks, without opening transglot.

Requirements

  • Plan: any plan, including Free.
  • Role: Admin of the workspace, or an Owner of its account.
  • In Slack: permission to add an incoming webhook to the channel you want the messages in.

Connect Slack

Create an incoming webhook in Slack

Follow Slack's guide to incoming webhooks, choose the channel, and copy the webhook URL. It starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/.

Open the workspace's General settings

In transglot, open your workspace's Settings, then General. Find the Slack notifications card.

Paste the URL and save

Paste the URL into Slack incoming-webhook URL, then select Save & send test. transglot saves the URL and posts "transglot is connected" to the channel. Select Save instead if you do not want a test message.

The card now shows Connected, and the Slack card on the Integrations page reads connected with "Incoming webhook configured (stored encrypted)."

How the URL is stored

The webhook URL works like a password: anyone holding it can post to your channel. transglot stores it encrypted and never sends it back to the browser. After saving, the field shows "•••• connected, paste a new URL to replace", and the URL cannot be read out of transglot, only replaced.

Change the channel

Create a new incoming webhook for the other channel in Slack, paste its URL over the old one and select Save.

Disconnect

Select Disconnect on the Slack notifications card and confirm. The channel stops receiving this workspace's events immediately. To reconnect later, paste a webhook URL again.
