Delete a project
Permanently delete a project and everything in it: keys, translations, history, glossary, screenshots and credentials.
Deleting a project needs the Admin role in the workspace, or Owner of its account. Someone whose admin access to the project is limited to some of its languages cannot delete it.
There is no undo and no grace period
Every key, translation, version, screenshot, glossary term, webhook endpoint and API token in the project is removed immediately and permanently. Export or publish anything you want to keep first. The workspace's billing history is kept.
Before you start
- Export the project's languages from Settings, then Export, or pull them with the CLI, if you might need them again.
- Anything that reads from the project stops working: CLI pushes and pulls with its tokens, webhooks, integrations and README badges. Translations your app has already built in keep working.
Delete the project
Open the project settings
Open the project, select Settings, then General.
Start the deletion
Under Delete this project, select Delete project.
Type the name
In the dialog, type the project's name in Project name, exactly as it appears. "This cannot be undone. Type name to confirm."
Confirm
Select Delete project.
What happens next
You return to the workspace, and a message confirms it: "Project “name” deleted." The workspace's Admins and the account's Owners get an email that the project was deleted, and the deletion is recorded in the workspace audit log and its activity feed.
If it doesn't work
- "Type the project name exactly to confirm.": the name you typed does not match. Check capitals and spaces.
- Delete this project is not shown: you are not an Admin of this workspace or an Owner of its account.
