First steps

Your dashboard

The page you land on after signing in: what to do next before your first strings arrive, and every workspace you can reach once they have.

The dashboard is titled Portfolio and covers Every workspace you can reach. What it shows depends on whether anything has been translated yet.

Before your first strings arrive

Every figure would be a zero, so the page guides you instead. It shows Setup steps labelled Across your workspaces, then the ways to bring your strings in. Only the ways your plan and your role can use are offered as cards; anything closed to you is named with what would open it.

CardWhat it does
Upload filesDrop a JSON, YAML or XLIFF file; the format is detected for you. Included on every plan.
Locale folderZip your locales directory, and the files map to languages.
MigrateBring your keys and translations across from six other tools. See Import from another tool.
Connect your repoThe CLI or the GitHub Action, with a config for your framework. See Quickstart.
Connect a toolThe card reads "Contentful, Figma, Shopify and more from the marketplace." See Integrations for what you can connect.
Explore a sampleA finished project with real strings, to look around first. It needs room for one more project on your plan.

Once your strings have arrived

The page reports on your work.

  • Your accounts and workspaces. Workspaces are grouped by the account they belong to, with the account's plan and its words used this cycle. Each workspace lists its projects, with one bar per target language showing its coverage. Select Open workspace to go to it.
  • Filters. Everything, Blocked and Waiting on review narrow the list to the work that needs you.
  • Markets. Every target language across your projects, with its coverage, translated and score figures, its state, and whether it is published.
  • Figures. Words reused at $0 counts words served from translation memory instead of being translated again. AI words this cycle shows AI translation used against your plan's allowance. Active batches counts translation runs in progress. Projects counts the projects you can see.
  • Translation memory shows the words reused this month, Overall progress the share of target strings translated across all projects, and Recent activity what has happened lately, with View all for the full feed.

Words used this cycle are shown only to people with access to the whole workspace.

If it doesn't work

  • You see Start your workspace. You do not belong to a workspace yet. If you are expecting an invitation, do not create a workspace: open the private link in the invitation email. See Accept an invitation.
  • A project you expected is missing. You may not have access to it. Ask an admin of the workspace.
  • Explore a sample reads Needs a spare project. The account has as many projects as its plan includes. Free up a project or upgrade.
  • You see zeros instead of setup steps. If you were given access to specific projects rather than a whole workspace, the dashboard reports on them rather than showing setup steps, because those steps are work for whoever runs the workspace.
