Create a workspace
Create a workspace for your projects and your team, in an account you own or in a new account of your own.
A workspace holds your projects, your glossary and your team. Every workspace belongs to an account, which holds the plan and pays for it; every workspace in an account shares that plan. You can create a workspace in any account you are an Owner of, or in a new account, which makes you its Owner. See Workspaces and projects.
Invited to a workspace?
Do not create your own. Open the private link in the invitation email instead; a workspace you create yourself has nobody else in it. See Accept an invitation.
Create the workspace
Start the wizard
On your dashboard, select New workspace.
Workspace
Under Which account it belongs to, check the account. If you can choose between several, each row names the account and its plan. Enter the Workspace name; the workspace address shown below it is a preview. Select Continue.
Project
Every workspace starts with one project. Enter the Project name and, under What is it?, a line about the product, such as "Checkout flow for an e-commerce app". Glossa reads that line as context for every translation in the project.
Markets
Pick the Source language your strings are written in and the Target languages you want to ship. You can add more languages later.
Team
Optionally invite people under Invitations, each with an Email, an Invite role and, for reviewers, the Languages they work on. Invitations go out when you finish. You can also skip this step and invite people later.
Strings
Choose how your strings will arrive: a file, a migration from another tool, or a repository. Then select Create workspace.
The workspace and its first project are created together and the invitations go out. You land on the new project's Get started page, which asks for your strings in the way you chose. See Setup steps.
How many workspaces an account holds
The plan decides it. Free includes one workspace; paid plans have no workspace limit. A workspace that is scheduled for deletion still counts until it is gone. See pricing.
If it doesn't work
- The name is taken. An account cannot hold two workspaces with the same name. The wizard says so beside the name and offers Open that one.
- The account is full. The wizard explains, for example "Acme is on Free, which includes 1 workspace, and already has Acme Web." If you can change the account's plan, it offers Upgrade the account.
- "You are not an Owner of that account, so it cannot hold a new workspace. Pick another account." The account you picked is not one you own, for example because you were removed as an Owner in another tab.
- Languages or invitations were removed. If the account's plan has room for fewer languages or seats than you picked, the wizard removes the extra ones and says how many.
