Remove a teammate
Take someone out of a workspace so they lose access to every project in it.
Who can do this: admins, the Owners of the account that holds the workspace, and members whose role includes Invite, re-role and remove members.
Tokens they created keep working
Removing a person does not revoke the API or deploy tokens they created. Tokens belong to the project, not to the person. If they created any, revoke those separately. See Deploy tokens.
Find the person
Open Settings, choose the Workspace tab, then People. Find their row under Who reaches what.
Remove them
Select Remove. The confirmation names them and says: "They lose access to every project in this workspace straight away. Translations and reviews they have already done keep their name on them."
Confirm
Select Remove member.
What happens next
They lose access to the workspace at once, and a message names who was removed from which workspace. The removal is recorded in the audit log. They are emailed that they were removed, and the workspace's other admins and the account Owners receive a security email about it. Their translations, reviews and history stay as they are.
Removing someone from one workspace frees their seat only if they reach no other workspace of the account. To take a person out of every workspace of the account at once, an account Owner can use Remove from every workspace on the account's Owners & billing members page.
If it doesn't work
- There is no Remove on an account Owner: the Owners of the account are listed under Account Owners, not under Who reaches what, because they reach every workspace through the account. They are removed on the account's Owners & billing members page, which refuses to remove the last Owner. See Account Owners and Billing members.
- There is no Remove on anyone's row: your role does not include removing members.
- The person is managed by your directory: if your workspace uses SCIM provisioning, remove them in your identity provider as well, so your directory and the workspace stay in step. See Set up SCIM provisioning.
