Add a passkey
Sign in with your device's fingerprint, face, PIN or a security key instead of typing a password.
Who can do this: everyone, for their own login.
A passkey "never leaves the device and there is nothing to remember." It also counts as a second factor wherever a workspace requires two-factor authentication.
Open Password & sign-in
Open Settings, choose the You tab, then Password & sign-in. Confirm your password if you are asked.
Add a passkey
Under Passkeys, select Add passkey.
Name it
Enter a Passkey name, for example MacBook Pro or iPhone. "A name helps you identify this passkey later."
Register it
Select Register passkey and follow your device's prompt: fingerprint, face, device PIN or a hardware security key.
What happens next
The passkey is listed under Passkeys with when it was Added and Last used. On the sign-in page you can now use it instead of typing your password.
Add one on each device you sign in from regularly.
Remove a passkey
Select Remove on its row, then Remove passkey. Removal is immediate: you can no longer use it to sign in. Keep another way in, such as your password or another passkey, before you remove your last one.
If it doesn't work
- "Passkeys are not supported in this browser.": use a browser or device that supports passkeys, or keep signing in with your password and two-factor authentication.
- The device prompt does not appear: check that your device has a screen lock or biometrics set up, then try again.
