Self-heal a translation

Have Glossa repair the AI translations a quality check flagged, as suggestions for a reviewer or as new wording.

Self-heal takes an AI translation that a quality check flagged and asks Glossa for a better one. It works in two ways: automatically after each quality check, following the project's Auto-heal mode, or as a one-off repair you start yourself.

Self-heal is included on Team and above.

What self-heal may and may not change

Self-heal canSelf-heal never
Rewrite a translation Glossa wrote that a check flagged for review.Touches a translation you have edited or reviewed. A translation you have edited or reviewed is never overwritten by AI.
Attach a suggested fix to a finding, for a reviewer to accept.Saves a rewrite that breaks an automatic check: one with a broken placeholder, missing plural forms or a forbidden glossary term is discarded. If no attempt passes, the translation is left as it was.
Save its rewrite as a new version in the string's history.Approves a translation. A repaired translation is still an AI draft until someone approves it.

Because every applied repair is saved as a version, you can restore the previous wording from the string's version history.

Automatic self-heal

Set Auto-heal mode in the project's Settings → Checks (Owners and Admins):

  • Off: flagged translations wait for a reviewer.
  • Suggest (the default): after a check, each flagged AI translation gets a suggested fix attached to its finding. Nothing in the translation changes. A reviewer opens Quality findings for the string in the editor and selects Accept suggestion, which saves the fix as their own edit.
  • Apply: after a check, Glossa rewrites each flagged AI translation, within the limits above.

Automatic self-heal uses your AI allowance. When Auto-heal mode is on, the confirmation for a quality check says that flagged strings will be sent for a fresh translation afterwards.

Repair the failing translations now

Owners, Admins and Developers can repair every flagged AI translation in one go, whatever the Auto-heal mode.

Start the repair

On the project's Quality page, select Fix 12 with Glossa (the number is how many flagged AI translations there are). Owners and Admins can also use Repair 12 strings in Settings → Checks.

Read the confirmation

Repair 12 strings? states what will happen: Glossa re-translates the failing AI translations and overwrites their current values. It shows how many words that is and what it leaves of this cycle's allowance. If the project's Auto-heal mode is Off, it also says that running the repair overrides that setting this once.

Confirm

Select the button that names the word count, for example Repair 84 words. The repair runs in the background.

When it finishes, the project's Owners, Admins and Developers get a Self-heal completed notification. The repaired translations are not scored yet: run a quality check to score them again.

If your access is limited to some languages, the repair covers those languages only.

If it doesn't work

  • No Fix with Glossa button: your role cannot run repairs, or your plan does not include self-heal.
  • Nothing left to fix or "There is nothing for a repair to rewrite right now.": no AI translation is currently flagged. Flagged translations that someone edited or reviewed are not repaired, by design.
  • A translation is still flagged after a repair: no rewrite passed the automatic checks, so the original was kept. Fix it in the editor.
