Quality

Run a quality check

Score a project's translations and get a list of specific problems to fix, one language or all of them at once.

A quality check runs the automatic checks and the AI review over your translations, gives each one a quality score, and records what it finds. See Quality checks for what is checked.

Who can run a check

Owners, Admins and Developers, on Team and above. A check uses your AI allowance, and the confirmation tells you how much before anything starts.

From the Quality page

Open Quality

Open the project and select Quality in the sidebar.

Pick a language (optional)

Select a language's row in Every check, every locale to check that language first. With no row selected, the check covers every language.

Start the check

Select Re-run checks. The button reads Working out the cost… while transglot counts what the check would cover.

Confirm

The confirmation, Run the checks on German?, shows how many strings and words the check covers, and what that leaves of this cycle's allowance. Under Which languages, choose German only or every language. Select the button that names the word count, for example Check 1,240 words, to start.

The check runs in the background, so you can leave the page. As it works through your strings, the grid, the findings and the scores fill in. When it finishes, the people on the project get a QA finished notification, unless they have turned QA run completed off in their notification preferences.

From the editor

Open the language

Open the Editor and choose the language to check.

Run QA

Select Run QA in the toolbar and confirm. The button reads Checking quality… while the check starts.

Findings appear on each string in the editor: a string with findings shows how many, and opening them shows Quality findings for that string.

What a check covers

A check only reads what has changed. A translation that has not changed, and whose source has not changed, since it was last checked is skipped, so running a second check soon after the first costs a fraction of the first.

Findings never change your translations. They tell you what to look at. To have transglot fix what it finds, see Self-heal a translation. If Auto-heal mode is on for the project, the confirmation says so: strings the check flags are then sent for a fresh translation afterwards, which spends their own words on top of the check.

From the API

A deploy token with the manage ability can start a check with POST https://api.transglot.ai/v1/qa/run. See the API reference.

If it doesn't work

  • No Re-run checks button: your role cannot run checks, or your plan does not include the AI review. On plans without it, the Quality page reads "Agentic QA scoring unlocks on the Team plan."
  • "Nothing to check. No string in German needs a check right now.": every translation in that language has already been checked and nothing has changed since.
  • "The figures for this run could not be loaded, so nothing was started.": try again in a moment.
  • The check is refused for your allowance: the confirmation says so before anything starts, and nothing is charged. See What counts towards my usage.
