Translating

Filter the editor

Narrow a language to the strings you need to work on, share that view as a link, and save it for next time.

Filters, search and saved views work the same way in both editor views (Side by side and Table). In Side by side they decide which strings are in the queue; in Table they decide which rows are shown.

Type into Search keys and text… to find strings by key name or by text. The search matches the text of the source and of translations, and tolerates small differences in key names. It returns the 200 best matches; if there are more, the table says showing top 200: refine your search.

Filter

Open the filters

In the editor, select Filters. Under Filter keys, the options are:

FilterShows
Untranslated onlyStrings with no translation in this language yet.
StateOne of GLOSSA drafts (written by Glossa, not edited since), Edited or Approved. Select the same state again to remove it.
Waiting for approvalStrings that are translated but not yet approved.
Needs checkingStrings flagged for a person to check.
Has glossary issueTranslations where a quality check found a glossary problem: a required term missing, or a forbidden one used.
Has unresolved commentKeys with an open comment thread.
Stale (source changed)Translations whose source text changed after they were written.

Combine them

Filters combine: Needs checking with Has glossary issue shows only the flagged strings that also break a glossary term. Filters shows how many are on.

Clear them

Clear filters turns every filter off and keeps your search text.

The page address changes with your filters and language, so a filtered editor is a link you can send to a teammate. They see the same strings, limited to what their own access allows.

Save a view

A saved view keeps a filter combination, your search text and the language, under a name.

Set the filters

Set the language, the filters and any search text you want to keep.

Name it

Select Save view, type a name under Name this view (for example "Untranslated German"), then select Save.

Your views are listed under Views, under Saved views. Select a name to apply it; a view saved on another language switches the editor to that language. Select ✕ beside a view to delete it: only the saved filter is removed, never the strings it showed.

Saved views are personal: each member sees only their own, per project. Saving a view under a name you already use replaces it. Saving a view needs edit access to the project; anyone who can open the editor can filter.

The project overview opens the editor already filtered. On each language row, Review opens the strings that need checking, Fill gap the untranslated ones, and Approve the translated strings waiting for approval. The translate and review figures at the top of the project open the editor with the same filters.
