The assistant
Describe what you want done in a project in plain language, review the plan the assistant proposes, then run it.
The assistant lives in the command palette. You tell it what you want, for example "translate everything missing in French, then run QA", and it answers with a plan: the steps it would take, in order, and what each one touches. Nothing happens until you run the plan.
The assistant is available on Team plans and above, inside a project. It acts with your permissions: every step is checked against your role, your language access and your plan before it runs, exactly as if you had clicked the button yourself.
Ask the assistant
Open the command palette
Inside a project, press ⌘ K (Ctrl K on Windows and Linux).
Switch to the assistant
Select Ask the assistant. The panel is headed Ask about project name.
Describe what you want
Type into Ask the assistant… and press Enter. For example: "add a glossary term for Checkout", "add Japanese and translate it", or "open the QA dashboard".
Review the plan
The assistant replies with a numbered plan of up to eight steps. Each step says what it will do and which strings or languages it covers. A step that translates or checks strings shows the words it would spend.
Run it
Select Run (or Run plan, or Run N steps, spending words when the plan spends). To change the plan, ask again in different words instead.
When the plan has run, the panel says which steps ran, such as "All 2 steps ran." or "1 of 2 steps ran.", with the reason under any step that did not. Back to command palette returns you to the ordinary search.
What it can do
| Step | Same as |
|---|---|
| Find keys by name or text | Searching in the editor |
| Open a project page: the editor, quality, glossary, screenshots, deploy or overview | Using the project navigation |
| Create a key | New key in the editor (Add or edit a key) |
| Add a target language | Add a target language |
| Translate missing or all strings, in one language or every language | Translate with AI |
| Run the quality checks | Run a quality check |
| Add a glossary term, or change an existing one | Add a glossary term |
| Repair Glossa translations that failed quality checks | Self-heal a translation |
It does not approve translations, change settings, or delete anything.
When a step does not run
The assistant never claims a step ran when it did not. The reasons it gives include:
- "Your role or plan does not allow this step."
- "That language is outside your access to this project."
- "Nothing to translate. No string is waiting for this run."
- "Not run: a translation run is already in progress on this project. Try again when it finishes."
- "Not run: this workspace does not have enough words left this cycle."
- "Not run: the assistant has reached its limit for this billing cycle."
If the panel says "The assistant needs a Team plan or higher (Quality Mode).", the account's plan does not include the assistant. See Change your plan.
