Connect Help Scout
Import Help Scout Docs articles into transglot for translation.
Import only
Nothing is written back to Help Scout. Help Scout Docs models each language as a separate Docs site, not as a translation of an article. Take the translations out through the REST API, the transglot CLI or the CDN.
| Direction | Import only |
| Imported | The name and text of every Docs article |
| Written back | Nothing |
| Sync | Sync from CMS |
| Plan | Starter and above |
Before you start
Copy a Docs API key from the API keys section of your Help Scout profile. It must be a Docs API key, not a Mailbox API key.
Connect
Open your project's settings, choose CMS, and pick Help Scout in the CMS list. There is no URL to type.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Docs API key | Your Help Scout Docs API key |
| Content types | articles |
| Translatable fields | name, text, or both |
Select Connect, then Test connection. A successful test names the first collection it finds.
What gets imported
transglot walks your collections and their articles, and imports each article's name (its title) and text (its body).
Troubleshooting
... the credentials were rejected. The key is wrong, revoked, or is a Mailbox API key rather than a Docs API key.... the collection or article was not found. The article was removed while the sync ran. Run Sync from CMS again.... Help Scout is rate-limiting the request, retry.Wait and run the sync again.
