Connect PrestaShop
Import PrestaShop product and category copy into transglot and publish reviewed translations into each target language of your store.
| Direction | Two-way |
| Imported | Name, description and short description of products; name and description of categories, in your source language |
| Written back | The same fields in each target language you map. The source language is never written |
| Sync | Sync from CMS |
| Per sync | Up to 2,500 entries per content type |
| Plan | Starter and above |
Before you start
- Enable the webservice in PrestaShop's advanced parameters, and create a webservice key with read and write access to products and categories.
- Add your target languages to the store and note each one's language ID.
- Your store must be reachable over https at a public address.
Connect
Open your project's settings, choose CMS, and pick PrestaShop in the CMS list.
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| PrestaShop store URL | Your store root, for example https://shop.example.com. transglot adds /api/… itself |
| Source language ID | The PrestaShop language ID that holds your source content, usually 1 |
| Locale → language ID | For each target language in your project, its PrestaShop language ID, for example 2 |
| Webservice key | The webservice key |
| Content types | products, categories, or both |
| Translatable fields | Any of name, description, description_short |
| Publish these locales | The target languages to write back |
Select Connect, then Test connection. A successful test names the store's host.
What gets imported
transglot reads every product and category and imports the value of each mapped field in the source language ID. Categories have no short description, so that field is skipped for them.
How translations are written back
A PrestaShop multilingual field holds one value per language ID. For each product or category, transglot reads the resource, replaces only the values for the target language IDs you mapped, and saves it. The source-language value and every other field are kept exactly as they were.
- A language with no ID under Locale → language ID is skipped.
- A language mapped to the source language ID is skipped.
Troubleshooting
Failed verifying the PrestaShop webservice key: the credentials were rejected. The key is wrong, disabled, or the webservice is off.... the store, resource or id was not found, check the URL and webservice key.Check PrestaShop store URL and that the key has access to products and categories.... the store is rate-limited, retry.Wait and run the sync or publish again.
